What is NBS?

NBS in LA

UO’s National Broadcasting Society (NBS) is a student-run group that focuses on all things broadcast. Whether it’s sportscasting or documentary making, NBS encompasses the interests of all students wanting to focus on multimedia skills.

Every year NBS takes a trip to the National Broadcasting Society Convention. This year the convention was held in Los Angeles and the team was able to network and connect with professionals. Many of these professionals were actors, broadcasters, talent casters, and even producers.

NBS also hosts a film festival each spring along with a broadcasting workshop. The point of the broadcasting workshop is to share take-aways from the yearly convention with other UO students.

NBS is free and open to all students on the UO campus. Meetings are on Tuesdays @ 6pm, but the meeting times vary per term. Students do NOT have to be Journalism majors to join the club.

If you would like to know more about NBS or are interested in joining– contact Jaclyn at jaclynu@uoregon.edu or advisor Rebecca Force at rebeccaf@uoregon.edu
