The Eugene Environmental Film Festival coming up the first weekend of October, the 5th through 7th!
We have an amazing line-up of diverse films from different regions of the world. Many of the films speak to the importance of free flowing rivers and the impact of dams on ecosystems and people’s livelihood and culture. Other films make you feel like you are a part of something much bigger, the humanity and importance in struggling for animal, land, and human rights. Other films remind us of the natural beauty and why we fight so hard to protect the planet for ourselves and future generations. The films address issues of environmental racism/justice, indigenous rights, climate justice, food justice, conservation, sustainability, globalization, and resistance, among others. For more information about the films visit: https://eugevoff.org/ films/
If you love independent films and have a passion for the environment, join us and help us to spread the word. On Saturday, festival goers will have access to 4 theaters per film session for only $15.00. On Sunday the youth venue is free and open to the public. Join us in cross cultural conversations with filmmakers and each other about critical environmental issues facing our planet and to acknowledge the people in the struggle for positive change.
Free and open to the public in downtown Eugene will be six venues of workshops, speakers, and performance. We will have a panel on indigenous rights including with visiting Chief Caleen Sisk of the Winnemem Wintu Tribe, environmental justice performance, #youthvgov with Our Children’s Trust, discussion on climate change and what we can do, a workshop on civil disobedience, and coffee with filmmakers, as well as yoga in Kesey Square. See our website for more information.
