Introduction

My comic book is about three turtles which act as islands and the frog-people that live on them. A war happens between the islands that leads to the near wipeout of all of the island’s population. I wanted to demonstrate that war sucks (something which became very prescient while designing the comic), but beyond it I also wanted to communicate the societal divide that I have felt has happened, even since I was a kid. Our reading of Alan and Moore’s Watchmen inspired me to do bright colors and the repeating symbol on both the title page and the last page.
