Introduction

My comic is about the recurring nightmares that I used to have about being in a school shooting and the fear that continues to stick with me. I hope this makes readers consider how messed up the gun laws in the United States are and shows the grip that they have, even on people who have been fortunate enough to not experience a shooting first-hand. ENG 280 made me really consider the way that I laid out the page and used space. I didn’t use specific techniques learned in the class, but because of the class, I thought more about the effect that the layout had on the storytelling. A detail I want to highlight on the third page is how the world comes back to color as I slowly become numb to the reality that could come true at any point.
