Step One: Log in using your UO credentials:

Step Two: Pick the major

Step Three: Choose which menu (for example, Advancement).

Step Four: Click on “Submit New Advancement.” When the form opens up, enter the dates for all advancement requirements. Please note that the date approved cannot be the same as the date submitted.

Step Five: After you have submitted this form, it will go to the faculty advisor for approval. After he/she approves, you will be prompted to go back into GradWeb to complete the second part of the advancement form (see below). On this part of the form, you will enter all the committee members for each advancement requirement. You will find the Faculty IDs in the directory within GradWeb. For the language requirement, you can put the DGS as the committee.

Step Six: Do the final departmental approval. Before sending the form through GradWeb, remember to print the form for the DGS signature.

Step Seven: Send the signed approval form to the Graduate School

Step Eight: After the Graduate School has approved the advancement to candidacy, there is an additional step to submit the create the committee for the dissertation/lecture-document/digital portfolio dissertation.
