Hypermeasure, Hyperbeat, Hypermeter, Insertion, etc.

There are a few terms I wish to clarify.

Parenthetical insertions are “insertion of unessential melodic ideas between the segments of a phrase” (Rothstein 1989, 87). It is related to expanded hyperbeat because it may prolong the harmony from the previous measure. But the motivic material in the insertion may depart from the surrounding phrase segments significantly.
