I’m Monse Cascante, from Costa Rica.
I’ve worked at the Costa Rican volcano observatory for the past few years and I wanted to learn more about physical volcanology and how eruptions work.
That’s why I apply to the University of Oregon and wanted to work with Thomas Giachetti.
This is my 1st year as a Ph.D. student and I’ll be working on Costa Rican volcanoes. Specifically, on Turrialba and Poas volcanoes, on the dynamics of the eruptions.
Looking forward to this great experience!
