This powerful little piece made me cry. (Granted, I cry at almost everything, but still!)
It’s definitely the audio (the narrator) that drives this piece, but it’s the absurdity of seeing that many jellybeans that keeps you watching. Think about it, if you had just heard the narrator talking — you’d eventually tune him out because this is just another one of those “live your life to the fullest” videos everyone is tired of seeing.
But it’s those damn jellybeans and the jellybean art that kept me captivated. “Wow! I do spend a lot of time sleeping,” I thought to myself as they created an entire scene to represent that lost amount of time.
I can’t imagine this cost a lot of money to produce (minus buying all the jellybeans, of course) and I also can’t imagine this look a ton of time to edit. But it gave me the feels and also inspired me to find inventive and unique ways to evoke emotion in my future passion projects.
Your reaction to the piece highlights how effective it is at evoking emotion and capturing attention through its unique approach. The visual impact of the jellybeans, combined with the narrator’s message, creates a compelling experience that makes you reflect on time and how we spend it. This combination of simplicity and creativity demonstrates that powerful storytelling doesn’t always require a huge budget or elaborate production. Your takeaway—finding inventive and unique ways to evoke emotion—underscores the potential of creative projects to make a lasting impact. It’s inspiring to see how this piece has motivated you in your own work! starbuckssecretmenu
