I absolutely have no clue if this is a commercial of some sorts or not, but I loved it!
I loved how the screens were divided and how they were capable of showing both sides of the story and both lives, inside a relationship and outside of it. This also reminded me of a clip that Phoenix has recently posted, that also had a split screen.
One of favorite shots in this short film was at 1:11. If I remember correctly, it is the only full shot in this entire 2:56 minutes film, yet it still fitted so well! I really would like to know the technique of how the editors were capable of having a different reflection from the person dancing. Another shot I appreciate is at 1:19, where the couples turn around and both sides change, from normal to drag and vice-versa.
What I really like about this film is how visually interesting it is. I really appreciate the effort the editors had placed into it. It was so easy to watch and entertaining visually. Both screens matched well with each other, especially when introducing the couples or during the final shots of the couples.
Even though the shots seemed to be simple, as in medium shots, wide shots and close up, and there didn’t seem to be any toys used, such as drones or gimbal, yet it was very interesting and made me watch until the end. It is a reminder that the no matter how many different camera there are or how expensive they are, the editing process is one of the most crucial parts of a video. If no effort was placed into the editing process, then the video would not be effective what-so-ever.
