“#MeToo can seem like such a pervasive, indissoluble problem that it can get swept under the rug. Solutions journalism has illustrated to me that there are people who want to help, and tangible efforts being made. I hope my work on the Men’s Center story will contribute to media coverage that deconstructs notions about gender.”

Sarah Hovet is a staff writer for the Robert D. Clark Honors College communications team. She is also a tutor and conversation partner for English as an Additional Language students at the American English Institute, as well as a research assistant to Professor Vera Keller of the University of Oregon History Department.

Previously, she worked as a content marketing intern for Palo Alto Software, a staff writer for Ethos Magazine, a Clark Honors College Introductory Program leader, and a regional student representative for the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. She is an aspiring poet and winner of the 2017 Eleanor B. North Poetry Prize.

Hovet will graduate in June of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism and a creative writing minor. Check out her personal website here.
