Ruben Estrada

“Covering #MeToo from a solutions angle is valuable because it provides communities with options for the future. In order to solve big problems, we need stories focusing on big and bold solutions.”

Ruben Estrada is a volunteer writer for the WOW Hall, a music venue in downtown Eugene. He also holds a volunteer writing position for isportsweb, a sports platform on which he produces biweekly material on the Portland Trail Blazers and Tottenham Hotspur.

Estrada served as an account executive for the student newspaper at the University of Oregon, the Daily Emerald, from September 2016 to December 2017. There, he worked to connect local businesses to the community and promoted the paper to students.

Estrada will graduate from the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a minor in Spanish in June of 2019.
