Latvian Prime Minister Attends Recent EPC Conference

The Prime Minister of Latvia, Evica Selina, is currently attending the EPC (European Political Community) Summit this week in Grenada, Spain. The conference is being held to discuss transport, energy, and artificial intelligence, but is also covering the topic of Russia and continual conflict with Ukraine. 

Lativia has taken a stance on the topic. Prime Minister Selina addresses the issue, “We must continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia. Despite its military setbacks, Russia remains the biggest direct threat to Europe.” The Prime Minister also expressed support for continued financial and military aid in Ukraine, and involvement in Belarusian affairs.

In addition, she claimed the European Union needed to be more involved with keeping Russia accountable for criminal war. The Latvian government has decided to stay true to their stance, supporting a united European Union.  

Internally within Northern European affairs, the Latvian Prime Minister has expressed gratitude for Norwegian affairs, claiming their contribution in NATO’s multinational battle group in Lithuania expresses commitment to regional security. The region has also discussed continual support of one another, and contribution to economic, defense, and energy continually.  

While the conference is ongoing, a lot has been said about Lithuanian contribution and their stance relative to the action of the European Union. Continued support of Ukraine in their ongoing conflict with Russia is seemingly the most important current topic of discussion. A United European Union is the main goal in Latvian affairs, as well as continuing furthered relationships with neighboring counties in the region.
