Advice for the Job Search from a Recent Graduate:
If you are applying for teaching jobs, you should go to the JMM, which is held January 8-11, 2025 in Seattle, Washington. You will probably get some interviews here if you apply for them. You should also apply to give a 10 or 20 minute presentation. The deadline for abstract submission for 2025 year was September 10, 2024. The deadline to apply for funding is about a week later. If you are applying to research jobs, you should apply to the NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship. In 2024 the deadline is October 16. You need to have a sponsor well before then, so plan ahead. Note that the deadline is always the third Wednesday in October. Here is the website:
For everyone: Job applications start being due in late October and continue for months. Large batches will be due on 11/1, 11/15, 12/1, and 12/15, though some are later. It’s a good idea to start drafting research/teaching statements and getting letter writers during August if you haven’t begun already.

- mathjobs.org The American Mathematical Society sponsors this automated job application system, which is free for applicants. Once you register and enter your data, you can use the system to apply for jobs, track applications, and invite reference writers to submit letters. You can have your MathJobs account email you the new jobs that are posted every day and flag them. This will save you time later on.
