I made these layouts to match the cover for the Portland beekeepers story. My main focus in creating these pages was to keep things both clean and visually interesting. I chose a dramatic font set for my title–“The Bee’s Knees”–and tried to use white space as strategically as possible, in order to add an aesthetic aspect without going overboard on photos or color. These layouts are designed with a feature story in mind, with visually interesting photographs and compelling writing.
