Starting a Family at the UO
Charles and Margaret are high school sweethearts who have been happily married for 45 years.
They say that the love they found in Eugene was for their two amazing daughters who were born while they were graduate students at the University of Oregon.
Charles shares that a memorable Valentine’s Day in Eugene was, “a long walk along the Amazon Canal on a rare sunny winter day in 1983, with our three-year-old daughter in a stroller and our six-month-old baby girl in a Snugli.”
Wen asked if they had any advice for other couples, Charles said, “We are not sure that we have relationship advice for other people. We have always just enjoyed each other’s company, had each other’s back, worked hard, and doted on our kids and grandkids.”
