Meeting through the UO Hong Kong Students Association
Brian shares that he and Maria met at an HKSA (Hong Kong Student Association) meeting. Now they live back in Hong Kong with their daughter Elise and dog Edwina (seen in the photo they have shared).
Brian recalls that a memorable Valentine’s Day in Eugene included Dinner at Cafe Zenon: “We enjoyed excellent food and had a great evening, but were completely broke afterwards!” Note: Cafe Zenon is no longer open, but it most recent owner, UO alumnus Ib Hamide, is still going strong with Cafe Soriah.
When asked what he initially liked about Maria, Brian says, “She was friendly and lots of fun! For example, she was willing to act as a guinea pig just to get her Chinese pancakes!”
