Larry has over 25 years of experience in optics and photonics as well as surface and material sciences. He obtained his Ph.D. employing second-order non-linear optical laser spectroscopy to examine molecular structure and surface interactions at organic/water interfaces.
As Director of the LITES Facility his services include advising and assisting research groups employing laser- and/or optics-based experimental techniques. Such assistance may range from proposal writing, experiment design, design and construction of custom laser and imaging equipment, data acquisition and processing, software development and interfacing, laser diagnosis, laser maintenance, and laser repair. He works closely with graduate students and postdoctoral personnel to provide in-depth laser/optical training and support in order to facilitate the development of cutting-edge laser/optical instrumentation and optical techniques for research applications.
