Hi, I’m Lily!
I’m an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon. I’m majoring in journalism with the hope of working in sports media.
My obsession with sports started with the NCAA Men’s March Madness tournament. The drama of single-game elimination and the excitement of filling out a bracket showed me how fun sports can be. Growing up in Oregon, though, I realized my dream was to be a sports broadcaster when watching the Sabrina Ionescu-led Oregon women’s basketball team. I saw the potential of women’s sports but was also disappointed to see the disparity in coverage.
I want to take part in changing that.
I believe everyone has a story to tell and that the media can help leverage those stories to bring in more coverage. This is what made me want to pursue a career in sports journalism. Not only does it allow me to be around my passion for sports, but it gives me an opportunity to tell stories that need to be told and even inspire change.
On this website, you will find some examples of work I have produced so far in my career. This includes a broadcasting page with links to the live game commentary I’ve done. Under the sports story page, you can find articles I have written for various publications. Lastly, I’ve included a page with other media I’ve created throughout my time in college.
