  1. Distributed Cognition & Collaborative Intelligence:  “Distributed cognition is a branch of cognitive science that proposes cognition and knowledge are not confined to an individual; rather, it is distributed across objects, individuals, artefacts, and tools in the environment”.  This definition found: https://www.learning-theories.com/distributed-cognition-dcog.html.  “Collaborative intelligence, or CQ, is a measure of our ability to think with others on behalf of what matters to us all.”  This definition was found through: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/video/collaborative-intelligence-thinking-with-people-who-think-differently.  It based off of a book entitled: Collaborative Intelligence: Thinking With People That Think Differently.
  2. Informal Learning: is something that is learned outside of a classroom, like riding a bike or tying shoelaces.
  3. White Space: also referred to as negative space, is the area not covered by type or design.  Necessary to keep the design from looking extremely cluttered or confusing.
  4. Focal Point: The focal point is the point in which the eye is drawn.  It is what you are trying to get across to the viewer, or what you are communicating to the viewer through your design.  http://blog.digitaltutors.com/establishing-strong-focal-point-design-projects/
  5. Collateral:  marketing material used to promote a brand or business, for example: envelopes, business cards, posters, shirts, mugs, bags, etc.
