An “All American” evening with Spencer Paysinger
Thursday, Feb 7, 2019
NeueHouse Screening Room, Hollywood
Join us at the NeueHouse screening room in Hollywood for appetizers, drinks, networking, and a talk with Super Bowl champion Spencer Paysinger. During the evening, we will see clips from “All American,” the CW show based on Spencer’s life.
Black Alumni Network board member Isaac Walker II, BA ’00, will moderate a Q&A with Paysinger, BS ’10, who grew up in poverty in South Central LA before becoming a football star at affluent Beverly Hills High School. Paysinger went on to play for the Ducks while earning a degree in economics from the UO, and his six-year NFL career included a Super Bowl title with the New York Giants. His fish-out-of-water high school story is the basis for the critically acclaimed CW show “All American,” which stars Daniel Ezra as “Spencer James,” and Taye Diggs as Paysinger/James’ coach.
