One of my favorite moments from last Sunday was hearing Mia say, ” So this is what it would be like if I was famous,” after walking half a block of Sutton and me circling her with cameras.
There is no doubt in my mind that one day Mia will be superstar famous- she’s a mover and a groover when it comes to issues she cares about, and that’s what we need. People who actually create change are what society loves- even while Sutton and I were filming on the MAX Blue Line to Alder, a man came up, shook Mia’s hand and said he admired the work she was doing. Granted, people in Portland are friendly – and audacious – like that, but regardless of what city we were in, I’m sure anyone who overhead Mia talk about why she engages kids in the arts would be inspired.
