For this project I really wanted to continue with the same aesthetic that I used in project 1. I wanted to do paper cuts originally but once I started I was having a hard time making the cutouts look clean. I decided to make a vector mask in Illustrator instead because of how much more sharp I could get the lines. I was inspired by Stefan Sagmeister’s book cover “Things I have learned in my life so far.” I decided to crop in closer to the eyes because the eyes are the windows to the soul and can tell you a lot about a person through their eyes. I chose images that I felt a strong connection to and that I felt represented different sides of me. I really agreed with the critique and if I had to redo this project I would change the background for the third panel. I also think I prefer the look of real paper cuts to the pattern I made in Illustrator.
