When looking at art in terms of media, I believe the connection to be very relevant. As technology progresses, art and science follow the same transformations. Web design falls under that same progression. When designing on the web, we must follow the same artistic principles as any other work of art.  Web design is the perfect example of meshing the techniques of art with the ability to craft forms of technology. In specific, I found the section about graphic compression was interesting. The details behind the design was nicely shown in the articles.

I thought the section about the new approach in the qualitative approach was interesting. I like learning about the progression that scientists and artists experience in the field of research. Furthermore, I agree with the notion that visual imagery plays a key role in todays education. With art contributing to research, students can understand concepts in a new and inspiring way. Through visuals, a new approach to understanding concepts is formed. Finally, I believe the link between art and culture is crucial. Associating art in the real world can be the key to understanding the relevance of art in todays society.

Palmer effectively uses various colors to represent different emotions in his work. The paintings seem to be abstract with overlapping shapes and colors. Furthermore, Palmer’s work seems futuristic, with space like images. Lastly, the image medusa has a scientific feel, resembling an image taken by a microscope.
