I thought her presentation was extremely interesting.

  • At first I struggled to understand the concepts but as I began to draw I improved upon my skills.
  • I liked the detail of the activity
    • not normal basic sketched but the detail put into every aspect of the butterfly
    • in addition, I enjoyed learning new shading techniques that adds great detail to the drawings
    • in the future, I can use the techniques learned to help with the sketches that I am going to make for my project
    • I believe detail to be one of the most important aspects of sketching, and her seminar helped a lot with that

  • I thought the play was well designed and executed.
    • They used the resources that they had effectively and the play was well written.
  • I thought Henrietta levitt was an extremely intriguing character
    • Denied Harvard to pursue an astronomical career
      • Not many woman of the tie would deny an acceptance to Harvard to pursue a career that is not guaranteed to follow through.
        • Even when she arrived she was not perceived as a useful component of the team.
          •  They wanted her to be a computer instead of exploring the universe through a telescope.
          • She faces the adversity and makes a great discovery
            • Shows preserving and self discipline

Presentation on tuesday

  • I thought the presentation on tuesday was extremely informative
    • The graphs
      • Looking at graphs from different perspectives gives amazing insight
      • I thought it was really cool to see the different ways to read and interpret graphs. At first, they may seem to represent information in a misleading way. But, Upon further review, they can represent totally different data.
    • My project
      • using visuals to help the audience interpret my ideas
        • pitching ideas for my proposal
      • I want my visuals to represent my ideas that i would be pitching to a company or laboratory
      • I want the visuals to convince them to take on the project
        • must be clear, concise, enticing and interesting

I thought that the variety of different ways to use maps is extremely interesting. Maps tend to be directed towards geography, but in reality they can be useful for various different things. In specific, I like the first map because it has a historical feel. It looks similar to a map that you would find in medieval times. In addition, I believe scales for maps are extremely important. Knowing distances is key in determining how to travel to destinations.

After my presentation I received some awesome feedback.

  • Final Project feedback
    • Since I will not be able to create an exact replica of my presentation, I want to create a proposal.
      • Meaning that I will design the project as if I was presenting the idea to a company.
      • I will create outlines and make sketches as to exactly what the project will consist of.
        • project
          • Light board
            • synchronized with different shapes to tell a story
              • project will be outlined and designed so that the future lab would be able to execute accordingly
