Our research and approach

The UO Earth Surface Processes Laboratory works to understand how landscapes are shaped by mechanical, chemical, and biotic processes.  From the grain scale to the continent scale, we use field studies, laboratory experiments, computer simulations, and diverse analytical methods to quantify landscape form and dynamics.  Our discoveries span basic to applied topics in a variety of settings.
