First thoughts about the first week of classes… I would have to say that the class is much different from my expectations. To be honest I had expected to be thrown into groups on the first day without the professor even knowing my name or what my strengths were and then get started right off the bat with some huge project. I’m happy to say that the actual experience has been much different from what I had heard from my older peers. The lesson on what is leadership and the ways that normal people have risen to challenges was very intriguing, I find those stories so much more inspiring compared to a CEO making millions of dollars. Silly though it may be, I’m actually very excited for this course and to refine my own leadership skills, I’ve been in leadership positions since pretty much middle school but just in the past week I can say that I’ve already learned a lot about myself as a leader.
