Unit 7 Objectives:
- Become familiar with was in which spirituality influences artists
- Discuss the differences between spirituality and religion
- Examine spirituality as a generative force and a well spring for creativity
1 example piece of work:
1 reflection on the piece of work:
This week was very personal for me and I was able to connect the most to this week. This is because I am majoring in art here at the University as creating art is my passion. Even though I have my own process on making my art, I thought everybody was different. I was challenged however after reading the piece because even though it seems everybody has a different process, we all cover various steps to accomplish our goal. I was very familiar with how spirituality influences artist as I experience it myself. It was challenging putting the feeling into words and in the discussion post. The spirituality that I receive when I follow through with a piece of art is very overwhelming and difficult to explain. I know that spirituality and religion are not always connected. My art does not reflect my religion or influence it necessarily. There is spirituality in art and then there is spirituality in religion. Spirituality is definitely helps your well being for creativity. I find that without listening to your spirit or going against it your creativity is not as exuberant that it could possibly be.
Future Goals:
I will always be involved in what I learned this week as I make art a lot and will be for the rest of my life. I will be more aware of the steps I take to my finished art piece. I will be more aware of the Formulation, Saturation, Incubation, Inspiration, Translation, and Integration stages. I hope that this weeks assignments will help me become closer to my spirituality and improve my art process more.
