Politics in China:

Evaluations: 70% response rate; 4.3/5 for teaching

  • “She was very informative and taught a lot of China very well and clearly knew the content she was teaching. Only thing I would improve is the lecture slides since they contained a lot of information (which is good) but made for lectures that felt drawn out.”
  • “This course was excellently taught! My favorite political science class, I’ve never learned so much and been so motivated to learn on my own as I did in this class.”
  • Well organized in covering the history of the PRC in a way so that the class fully understands it culturally, politically, and economically by the time current issues are discussed.
  • Miss Neafie, is a good instructor overall and tries very hard to help students understand the material
  • “The instructor had a clear format for each class. This helps me a lot to understand and expect what is going on. Also, the instructor was very helpful while I was doing the research project. The readings about China were very interesting. Prof. Jessica has offered a balanced view about China, and the topics that she has discussed were very relevant and informative. The class is big, but she successfully gives chances for students to speak, and I like this thing.”
  • “The course was well-organized, and it covers a wide range of important topics for those interested in the Chinese affairs. I hope this class is offered in future terms with more subdivisions. The cultural activities that were associated with this class were amazing. I highly admire the efforts of Confucius Institute in spreading awareness about the Chinese culture and society.”
