Cemeteries
Cemeteries offer a great deal of insight into the customs and values of a community. In Latin America, Jewish cemeteries reveal how Jews became a part of the South American nations they immigrated to. Jewish communities maintained their individuality from the dominant Christian customs, but also evolved to incorporate Latin American and Christian values, thereby creating a new hybrid identity.
