Spencer’s butte is probably the most common hiking trail in Eugene. Whenever the forecast calls even for the slightest amount of sunshine, you can surely expect an Instagram timeline filled with views from the top.
The hike isn’t long and takes about an hour each way. You also need a car to get to the trail, it’s about a 20 minute drive away (Eugene stretches farther than you think!)
They recently remodeled part of the path, adding a staircase to make it easier for everyone to get to the top. You would think the addition would take away from the hiking aspect, but I assure you it doesn’t.
If you ever feel like being some-what outdoorsy, hiking the butte is a go-to option and only takes up a small amount of your day, while forcing you to exercise!
