Script

Title: Ducks Love Dogs

Photos throughout (Audio Slideshow)

Open with sound effects (SFX): dog barking and volunteer for Greenhill Humane Society encouraging the dog to speak by saying, “Do you love me?”

Narration: “Who doesn’t love dogs? I mean, especially during the stress of week six, who wouldn’t want to spend time with a furry friend.”

SFX: Natural sound at event with a girl, who rented a dog, talking to it how cute the dog is.

Narration: On Thursday afternoon outside of Lillis, the Greenhill Humane Society and PRSSA got together to put on an event called “Dugs for Dogs.”

Quote from Volunteer: “It’s just nice to get away from studying and take a break and get some puppy love. I mean who doesn’t love that.”

Narration: “That was Alyssa Wetmore, senior at the U of O and volunteer for Greenhill Humane Society.”

SFX: Nat sound of women dropping off two more dogs to the event and explaining to the crowd where she found them. “I found Sweet Pea in the desert of New Mexico, someone dumped her. And then I got Molly at the Humane Society there because she was lonely.”

Narration: “For me this was a great opportunity to get a break from school. I miss my two golden retrievers incredibly, and being able to rent a dog for a good cause was a great way to spend my afternoon.”

SFX: Nat sound of girl at the event asking a volunteer some questions.

Girl:“What kind of Dog is this one?”

Volunteer: “She’s a Springer Spaniel”

Girl: “And that one is half golden half?

Volunteer: “Well they are both rescues, so I’m not sure. Nut she is obviously a springer and she is some kind of retriever mix.

SFX: Nat sound of girls wanting to rend a dog and talking with a volunteer.

Volunteer: “He is on a no free treat diet.”

Girl 1: “He can’t just be cute?”

Followed by laughing and voices saying how cute the dogs are.

Girl 2: “I wish I had more time, I would totally rent a dog.”

Volunteer: “Yea you could totally rent a pooch.”

Narration: This is Hayley Lane reporting from the Ducks Love Dogs event on the Memorial Quad at the University of Oregon campus.
