Teaching Sustainability Video Script: 
Volunteers working at the the Grassroots Garden teach people how to grow and harvest their own organic produce. Additionally, as a part of Food for Lane County, organic food is harvested for those in need.

1) Howard with photos: "There's a crazy amount of hunger in Lane County. Almost 40 percent of all people in Lane County qualify for some kind of food assistance, which is an insane number."

2) Howard with photos: "We're trying to teach people how to grow vegetables. We're all organic here. We don't put in any synthetic additives...for disease and pest control."

3) Tao with photos: "The atmosphere here is so nice. Everybody is really friendly. The soil is beautiful. We learn a lot."

4) Howard with photos: "My first year at the garden, they harvested like 4,000 pounds of food. And last year we harvested over 65,000 pounds of food.

5) Volunteer with Howard speaking: "And all of that is due to the work of volunteers."
