Teaching Sustainability Video Script: Volunteers working at the the Grassroots Garden teach people how to grow and harvest their own organic produce. Additionally, as a part of Food for Lane County, organic food is harvested for those in need. Video/Photo by sequence: 1) Kendra Howard: Grassroots Coordinator. Almost 40 percent of all people in Lane County qualify for some kind of food assistance, which is an insane number." 2) Howard with photos: "We're trying to teach people how to grow vegetables. We're all organic here. We don't put in any synthetic additives...for disease and pest control." 3) Tao with photos: "The atmosphere here is so nice. Everybody is really friendly. The soil is beautiful. We learn a lot." 4) Howard with photos: "My first year at the garden, they harvested like 4,000 pounds of food.
