The outreach effort at the Institute of Neuroscience is focussed on the following issues:

  • Strive to remove financial, cultural and educational barriers to participation by implementing programs and practices that increase inclusivity and equity.

  • Seek out opportunities to collaborate with other organizations on campus who share similar goals in URM outreach in order to maximize our own efforts and the impact of our activities.
  • Encourage yearly attendance to SACNAS and ABRCMS conferences by ION faculty and trainees.

  • Amplify the voice of underrepresented groups in STEM.
