Peer Mentors come from all different cultures, like China, Thailand, America, Kenya, Vietnam, plus so many others. One of their favorite things to do is to share their culture and traditions with the rest of the UO and Eugene communities. Mentors assist with cross-cultural trainings across campus, they give presentations to different departments and classes, they act as cultural ambassadors for their country. They are very well integrated into their new life as a duck at UO, but remain very proud of the culture they come from. Mentors favorite way to share their culture with others, especially new students, is through food! The Peer Mentor Program hosts several potlucks, picnics and welcome parties for new students where everyone is encouraged to cook ethnic food. At these events we eat, play games, karaoke and create community. Come share your culture!
