I think as a person studying architecture it is ideal to say that building more buildings would be the best solution to homelessness but that is not the case. I think this is a problem that is pretty connected to government policies and state policies. It is a a crisis because politicians do not want to funnel money into rehabilitation programs but I think that would be the best solution. It has proven to be successful to set up out reach communities that can help people establish connections to be able to get their needs met. I think architecture does do it a disservice because since it is not funded there are not really any programs that specialize or focus on homeless communities. I think the best solution would be better policies that drive funding into creating outreaches just like they have by Autzen.
