Graduate Student Internship in Supporting Research in Educational Technology

 

Projects’ Titles: Project ESCOLAR (Etext Supports for Collaborative Online Learning and Academic Reading) and Project S-SOAR (Strategies for Online Academic Research)

Projects’ Description: Projects ESCOLAR and S-SOAR are both five-year studies conducted by the University of Oregon’s Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE). ESCOLAR is creating and evaluating high-quality Collaborative Online Learning (COL) units to help middle-school students explore science, collaborate with others online, and enhance learning; S-SOAR is testing and disseminating strategies for conducting effective online research and teacher professional development resources. The projects are both funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

 

Internship Activities: The Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE) within the COE is offering a graduate student internship for interested COE doctoral students. The intern will support CATE’s research and will assist with grant and paper writing on topics related to utilizing technology in education.

Student Time & Commitment: Negotiable and variable depending on the student’s needs, interests, and availability.

 

Skills Needed for Internship: Applicants should posses strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience or interest in grant writing and conducting research in school settings; preference will be given to applicants who have an interest in instructional technology.
