Children with Intellectual Disabilities (ID)

This module gives an overview and definition of Intellectual Disability (ID), and it explains the importance of parents and teachers working together to teach a child with ID. It gives examples of teaching methods, including Task Analysis, to help children with ID learning and performing needed skills.
You will learn to:
- Define Intellectual Disability (ID).
- Emphasize that children with ID can learn in regular classrooms.
- Explain the importance of communication and sharing between teachers and parents.
- Describe some methods of teaching children with ID.
- Use Task Analysis to teach a skill.
Pre-test
First, we are going to do a test to see how much you know about the topics in this Module. We will do the test at the beginning of the module to see what you already know, and at the end of the module to see what new information you have learned. This helps us to measure how successful this module is in training you.
