Overview of Instructional Unit:

On this page you will find a sequence of six lesson plans that integrate computer science concepts with the De Stijl art movement. Lessons are focused on incorporating works of art form the De Stijl movement with early coding skills and use the programming site for children called, “Scratch”. Lessons one through five teach a variety of concepts such as; sequencing, variables, parallelism, and conditionals. Lesson six provides an opportunity for students to use the skills they have learned to create an original project based on an artist from the De Stijl movement.
