Sample Lesson Plan
This section includes an excel sheet format that I use to align my course via backwards-design. The sheet begins with a column for the overall goals and learning objectives for the week and then builds on what summative assessments will be used, what types of formative assessments will help students evaluate their own progress, and then the types of activities that students will do to prepare themselves for the formative and summative assessments. The excel sheet includes annotations which add explanation for some decisions and show how different pieces fit into the broader scope of the course. I have also included the slides used in the first class session and a pre-class assignment as examples of how these lesson plan translate into activities for students.
