Cluckin’ Dog

For the second project of the term we were asked to create a photo package depicting the story of someone with an interesting job or hobby. I chose Sai Pituk as my subject for the project. I went into her restaurant named Cluckin’ Dog and took photographs while she went through her normal work day. During the time I was there, I witnessed Pituk make food, serve customers and work with her other employees.  It was a great time witnessing the daily activities of Pituk and learning about her story.

Cluckin’ Dog, located at 1239 Alder Street, Eugene, Oregon, brings a new style of Korean street food to the hungry college students at the University of Oregon. Started as a food cart in Albany, Oregon, Cluckin’ Dog’s new location in Eugene just opened on December 7th, 2023, serving a mix of spiced up corn dogs and Korean fried chicken.
The owner and head chef of Cluckin’ Dog, Sai Pituk, has a large resume when it comes to the restaurant industry. Pituk is a veteran, mother of three and a five-time restaurant owner who has also appeared on the reality cooking show, “Around the World in 80 Plates”. With her cooking expertise, Pituk is hoping she can bring a more fun eating experience to the Eugene area.
Pituk douses each corn dog in sugar to make the dish sweet and salty. The corn dog being prepared is called the “OG”, which includes half beef, half mozzarella rolled in panko which is then topped with ketchup and mustard.
Korean fried chicken and a “Bumpy” corn dog, rolled in cubed potatoes–hot and ready to serve. Items on Cluckin’ Dogs menu are not what you would normally see at your everyday restaurant.
Drizzling the final touches of spicy ketchup, Pituk spices up not only the tongue but the restaurant itself with her culinary creations.
