Halley’s Personal Learning Environment
My PLE is about four parts of my environment as it is recently. These four aspects cover my home life, professional life, hands on experiences, and virtual experiences. They have all played an important role to how I learn and how I get business done.
The first category is my home/personal life. As you can see, at home I have my family, silly activities with my son, our favorite TV show, and a little bit of romance. They are expressed in pictures of my family or things we have created for one another. The Goldberg’s is not our family portrait but it is how our family dynamic works on a daily basis. The next part is with hands on activities or interests that I pursue in my rare spare time. They include sports, gardening, stain glass, and reading. The placement of these bubbles are on top because they are most important to me. However, all the bubbles are the same size because it is a balancing between the areas.

The lower part is of my professional and virtual life. From left, is my school and were I work and volunteer. It’s condensed because that and my home life take most of my time. I could added a lot to this but I decided to only add what is relevant in my learning environment now. The last part is the virtual world. These are places that I have access to everyday and look at regularly. The bigger the pictures means the more time I may spend on it. Lately, I have been working with LinkedIn because of my position at PODS. These are something use to think were a waste of time but now can’t imagine how an organization exits without them. These aspects are lower than then my family and interests but I do care about these aspects almost equally.
Other things you may have noticed is the color and pattern of the letters. The colors I have chose are my favorite colors and they were used for my wedding. I purposefully did not use black, except for maybe logos, because I like to be positive and bright. I like my environment to be creative and fun. Also, it must be organized through chaos. The letters in the center are varied in color but are in a patter. It is also why I chose to do categories through rounded boxes. You also see that the boxes layer with one another. It is representing that all of these parts overlap on another in some ways. Those are the different types of environment I have been working on and that created my personal learning plan.
