This term has flown by fast. There are many things I have learned in all my classes and it is hard just to reflect on the learning objectives from the beginning. These are my reflections from the course and the pre-learning objectives.

1.) I wanted to explore participation and how technology is used to gain participation. Community and participation was greatly explored as a subject and a concern for all of my classes. I would have to admit, our Media, Marketing and Communication explored how to use technology to communicate to target markets. However, Art and Society went above and beyond what to consider an art world. Becker will forever be a name stuck in my head after all the reading we have done by him.

2.) In my pre-learning objectives, I stated I would like to study or discuss the possibilities for new venues in art. We certainly discussed placement. With so many diverse backgrounds in the class there was great explorations with venues and different ideas of remixes, placement, and future sustainability. This actually answered my next question I wanted to explore as well. Those questions were; what do people miss from the experience? Is seeing a Van Gogh as a picture really experiencing his expressive brushstrokes? I would agree that it isn’t but what other ways can students really access works of paintings? There is really no right or wrong answers for these questions yet. However, these questions have made me think outside my comfort level for museums to come.

3.) The next objective really relates to Module 3 and how remixes occur and how it is hard to measure plagiarism. I was very shocked on some of the views in class. Mostly, these views were good points.  It again has opened up possibilities how remixes are very creative and sustains traditions.

4.) The main themes and reading comments from other students have broaden my terminology for future research. It has also provided me confidence in sharing my thoughts in class.

My last statement from my learning objectives did come true. We had a great class this term and I cannot wait to start Winter Term with all the these great graduate students.
