Bao Bao House is a modern sit-down Chinese restaurant specializing in dumplings. Bao Bao House features a prime location in downtown Eugene around the Saturday Market Plaza. The restaurant is a single-unit part of a larger commercial block and as such, follows the same architectural language and integrates seamlessly into the neighboring community. The interior design is a contemporary take on restaurant design providing an intriguing yet comforting space with a material pallet consisting of gypsum, wood, and metal. The theme is continued through the metal-framed wooden furniture. The space is designed mainly around group settings since the most common seating arrangement is a table for four however accommodations for both larger and smaller groups are available. The floorplan is single-level and follows an L shape providing privacy in the back while keeping an open entryway. Bao Bao House also prioritizes natural light with large storefront windows on the east side (main entrance) to accentuate the welcoming environment.
