Meracki Coffee & Co. is a self-described coffee and tea company. It is located just south of Eugene’s downtown at 1203 Willamette St in suites 110 & 120 of an 8-suite complex. According to the company’s website, Meraki is a Greek verb, meaning “to do something with soul, creativity, or love’ to put something of yourself in your work.” (drinkmeraki.com) Experientially, Meracki is a cozy coffee shop with exposed ceilings and a full wall of glazing that connects users to the outdoors. The space is filled with natural materials like wood and leather. Biophilic design is evident in the rhythm of the visible ceiling structure, meandering exposed MEP systems, and the presence of plans both real and as murals. The color scheme is composed of warm neutrals, primarily tans, cream-whites, and black. Patrons have a variety of seating options ranging from grouped couches to two-top window seats to exterior patio furniture where they can enjoy fresh baked goods, locally roasted coffee, and simple snacks.
