Welcome to the UO Global Studies Institute Middle East Working Group page!  The GSI, part of the Office of International Affairs, works with faculty, staff and students from across the UO and the wider community to help develop and implement UO international engagement strategy in key regions and countries of the world.  Whenever possible, we partner with academic units responsible for teaching, research and outreach in key regions/countries.

The Middle East Working Groups support our efforts to enhance all aspects of global engagement in Middle East, including but not limited to:

• UO faculty research and academic collaboration in Middle East
• Study abroad and international internship opportunities for UO students in Middle East
• Recruitment of students from Middle East to attend UO
• Scholarships for study abroad/internship in Middle East and for students coming to UO from Middle East
• Establishment and management of formal partnership agreements in Middle East
• Fundraising to support UO engagements in Middle East
