Join the GSA and other graduate students to cheers to folks who presented their work and research at the UO Grad Forum, and meet grads from across the University of Oregon community. The party starts at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 12th at the Downtown Barnlight! Bring your coupon from the program flyer for a free beer courtesy of Ninkasi!
The GSA and the Barn Light are excited to announce the inaugural GradTalks series. The series will feature graduate students and faculty speaking about their work and research in a fun, casual environment. This is a great opportunity for grad students to practice sharing their work with an interdisciplinary audience.
Please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you are interested in presenting the next academic year (2017-2018).
Each speaker has 15-20 minutes for their talk, plus additional time for questions from the audience. Speaking at the Barn Light makes for a fun, casual environment, and we’ve found that the presentations that avoid overly-discipline-specific language and jargon get more audience involvement in the Q&A at the end.
