The House of Posada Belen of the migrant of Saltillo was created in November 2002. According to Pedro Pantoja Arreola, this house was made after a terrible tragic death of Honduran migrants. In 2001 two migrants were shot by militarized guards, while only six months later, another Honduran migrant was stoned to death by guards. These violent crimes generated such an outrage that father Pedro Pandoja and the sisters Martha Molina Guadalupe Lule decided to create Belen posada del migrante (The House of Posada Belen of the migrant). Today this migrant’s house is dedicated  to provide advice on human rights, to give out  food, medicines, clothing, a place to sleep and more importantly a place where migrants can feel safe and not alone. The main objective is to dignify all migrants, who predominantly are from Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua(South and Central America). The house is in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. For many this migrant’s house is a place where they can receive much needed help, because tragically today there are violent crimes against mostly South and Central Americans that violate basic human right’s which migrant house’s seek to protect. According to Rigoni’s book, these migrant house’s have helped many migrants with finding work,a place to stay and in many cases helped them defend their basic human rights.

Truly a picture is worth a thousand words. The migrant’s House photograph is useful to historians because it’s of a powerful and meaningful significance of a mural, where migrants can seek refuge and receive help from the tragic violence that millions of migrants go through in trying to cross borders. Without a doubt this photograph is a symbol of hope, and change because actions are being made to protect many migrant’s human rights. Today there are many migrant house’s throughout Mexico that are helping migrant’s gain a better life.
