A note from your Director:

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to plague our global community, there has never been a better time to study global public health. Our minor program in Global Health at UO exposes students to key themes in the field, such as: the importance of international cooperation, the role of the WHO, social determinants of health, global health ethics, racial and ethnic disparities in health, public health partnerships, and cross-cultural and cross-national perspectives on health challenges. The interdisciplinary, critical, and humanistic approach to Global Health students gain through our undergraduate minor prepares them for careers as public health professionals. The experiential learning component of the minor aids students in acquiring professional skills, including policy analysis, grant writing, community outreach, health education, health promotion, and non-profit management. Our students have gone on to some of the nation’s best MPH programs, and to further training in medicine and clinical professions, as well as to graduate study in the medical social sciences and health humanities. We welcome you to take a look at this website for detailed information on our academic program and some of our student success stories. Welcome to Global Health at UO!

Global Health Letter Writing Workshop

WHEN: Monday, August 3, 2020 at 5:00 PM WHERE: Zoom

The workshop is designed for attendees to have the opportunity to write a letter to Congress to persuade the U.S. Government to lobby for global health funding. This is especially relevant today as the U.S. has yet to pass any form of legislation to globally aid in the fight of the COVID-19 pandemic.
