I Know What We’re Doing This Summer…

The GEO Partner newsletter will be taking a break in June and July of this year, but that doesn’t mean the Institutional Relations (IR) team are! Read on to find out what we’re up to!

Headed to NAFSA? Lisa Calevi, the Assistant Director for Institutional Relations, will be at NAFSA in just a couple of weeks! If you would like to book an appointment with her, please visit this link to reserve a specific time, or you can email your IR representative directly.

If you have plans to attend the Career Integration Conference in Washington, D.C. this August 8-10, you’re invited to attend a session copresented by GEO’s Western Region Representative, Dana Elliott. Along with Samantha Cooper, the London Director for the Academic Internship Council, Dana will be presenting “Gen Z and the Future of Work”; this one-hour session will define the cohort known as “Generation Z”, how they are different from previous generations and what this means, not only for the future of work, but for creating innovative and effective career-readiness programming for these students in education abroad contexts. The session will take place on Friday, August 10th from 10:45-11:45am. For more details on this fantastic conference examining the juxtaposition of education abroad and careers, visit http://careerintegration.org.

Throughout the summer, many of us have plans to visit our centers and programs abroad, so we look forward to bringing back even more knowledge and insights to better serve you and your students this coming fall. We will also be updating all of our brochures and marketing materials and working on some exciting new features for social media and the web – stay tuned for their launch in the fall! Our next newsletter will be coming in August of 2018 – we look forward to connecting with you then. In the meantime, if you have requests for outreach or campus visits, be sure to get them on our radar for the coming year! Email your Institutional Relations Representative today to get it on her calendar!

From all of us at GEO, have a wonderful summer!
