GEO’s New Executive Director Announced

The message below was sent on behalf of Dennis Galvan, Vice Provost of the Office of International Affairs, to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director for GEO, Thomas Bogenschild. Tom will begin in his leadership role on Monday, September 19.

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Thomas Bogenschild has accepted the GEO Executive Director position and will join the Office of International Affairs September 19th. Tom was the overall top choice of the search committee as well as the GEO staff (via the survey). He comes to us with a vast background in leading global education offices, from Notre Dame to Vanderbilt University. He has served on the Board of the Association of International Education Administrators and been a consultant to the U.S. Departments of Education and State. Thomas received his bachelor’s degree from Occidental College (Anthropology), a masters from the University of Chicago (Cultural Anthropology) and his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley (Latin American Studies).
I want to thank the Search Committee and all the staff members that were able to participate in the interviews. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Thomas Bogenschild!
